Barber Shops are also Good Places to gather men for study regarding high blood pressure

In case you still don't know, barbers during the previous times also perform as surgeons.

I don't know if this is related to the study done by one group regarding high blood pressure where they targeted barber shops as place where they can get samples (men willing to take blood samples)

A creative new health care concept has proved successful in helping black men with hypertension (high blood pressure) keep their blood pressure under control. Acting on the assumption that neighborhood barber shops are community gathering spots that function as a source of information, researchers from the Texas Southwestern Medical Center recruited the owners of 17 black-owned barber shops in Dallas County for an innovative project. They screened the shops’ patrons for high blood pressure, discovering that almost half of them – 45% – had hypertension. Only 38% of those hypertensive customers had been able to bring their blood pressure down to a safe level.

When I read this article, I got the idea that when you are targeting men for samples for a research or survey, you can target the barber shops within the vicinity. Men around the area usually go here at least once a month.

For people who would like to cut and style their own hair (or even others), you can check a site regarding barber clippers.
